What We Do

Develop

• Work with leaders across the University to understand their scholarship, research, and priorities.
• Develop a legislative agenda that articulates the University’s higher education policy priorities.

Engage

• Work closely with federal, state, and local officials to actively monitor and respond to issues and legislation relevant to higher education, research, and innovation.
• Support the work of the Wake Washington Center in its mission to raise the profile and tangible presence of Wake Forest University in Washington, D.C.

Advocate

• Articulate the University’s policy agenda, priorities, and contributions in research, workforce and economic development, and postsecondary education.
• Work in partnership with peer institutions and associations to build coalitions surrounding higher education programs and priorities.

Coordinate

• Coordinate University activities and engagements with elected officials and policymakers at the national, state, and local levels.
• Facilitate on- and off-campus interactions between policymakers, University officials, and students.
